Full Description

Better access to information ranks as a top priority yet Canadian families and individuals living with autism and intellectual disabilities continue to confront systemic barriers and regional fragmentation in their pursuit of information, care and resources. These lifelong conditions can bring substantial emotional, social and economic challenges to the individual and their families. In Canada, as in other countries, those affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and intellectual-development disabilities need help, support and hope.
Led jointly by the Pacific Autism Family Centre Foundation (PAFCF) and the Miriam Foundation, the Autism-Intellectual-Developmental Disabilities Knowledge Exchange Network (AIDE) is an $11 million initiative funded by the federal government over the next five years to provide Canadians living with autism and intellectual disabilities with credible, reliable and evidence-based resources through a centralized website and online portal, resource library, electronic asset maps, and hub-to-hub network.
To support this vision and take the lead in making this dream a reality, AIDE is looking for its inaugural Chief Executive Officer.
Although it is preferred, you need not have previously led a non-profit organization, but you will need to have a knowledge and understanding of the various stakeholders within the autism and intellectual disability communities across Canada. As the face and voice of AIDE, you will be an entrepreneurial leader and consummate relationship builder who can represent, generate support and inspire collaboration for the network amongst individuals and families, governments, regulatory bodies, other agencies, community and civic organizations, supporters, and the general public. You should also have strong financial acumen, large scale program and project management experience, and the ability to represent AIDE. Ability to communicate in both English and French an asset
