THE SALVATION ARMY ONTARIO CENTRAL- EAST DIVISION
The Salvation Army has been privileged to serve vulnerable people in communities across Canada for over 130 years. Last year they assisted over 1.9 million people including providing 5850 beds each night for vulnerable men, women and children in Canada. With a number of social service programs, The Salvation Army also addresses other challenges such as unemployment, family difficulties, and loneliness, which are faced by many people each day.
The Ontario Central – East Division has over 2,200 employees and officers spanning approximately 100 Ministry Units in the region, Based in Toronto, they are responsible for a geographic region that includes west of Bowmanville to Peel region; as well as providing support as requested as far north as Peterborough.
The Director of Development (DOD) supports the Divisional Secretary for Public Relations and Development to create a renewed and proactive integrated approach to fundraising program. The DOD will provide leadership to a team of 8 and build on a platform that currently generates almost $14M of unspecified donations through major gifts, planned giving and annual giving programs across the GTA and beyond. These programs will form a framework used to guide, support and recommend improvements for all areas of Development within the Greater Toronto Area. You will also enjoy the latitude to cultivate new, and steward existing, relationships with key organizations and individual donors to capitalize on major giving opportunities.
If you’re a fundraiser with a minimum of 7 year’s experience, this role offers an opportunity to develop your skills and career at one of Canada’s best known and most loved charities. You’ll bring your skills in soliciting major gifts and managing staff as well as your experience in developing strategic and business plans.
